Description: This project with the City of Louisville achieved LEED Gold Status. The thoughtfully designed library space utilized geothermal heat pump units along with an energy recovery unit for heating and cooling. Plumbing LEED points were acquired through low-flow fixtures and point-of-use water heaters. Electrical efficiency was achieved by energy efficient lighting and daylighting controls.
Bellarmine University - Koster Dining Hall
Location: Louisville, KY

Description: To meet the university’s goal to conserve energy and eliminate external equipment on the surrounding greenspace, an 88-well geothermal field was installed under the adjacent parking lot for this expansion of the main dining room on campus. In addition, tanks collect rainwater that is used for toilets and urinals to minimize water usage.
Arneman Place Apartments
Location: Erie, PA
Type: New Construction
Green: LEED for Homes
Description: This project was a 50-unit complex which included eight 2-story apartment buildings, one single-story apartment building and a community center. MEP credits for the LEED for Homes Certification were achieved through energy efficient plumbing and lighting fixtures, Energy Star rated HVAC equipment, as well as other green design practices.
